The Sound of Rain

I woke up this morning and heard the sound of rain, yes it’s raining outside. I got up sat at my desk opened my window and rather than listen to music I listen to the sound of rain. there’s something about the sound of falling water that calms the soul. It’s amazing In the heat, its harder to concentrate and stay, but when the rain falls, revelation comes with it.

After three years of drought, nothing happening, food shortage, nothing growing in the fields, Elijah said to Ahab, Get you up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.… (1 kings 18;41-46). Elijah heard its sound.  Maybe you have been listening to the sound of the media lately, world news forecasting a dry season, economically, globally. In a dry season problems are magnified and man is mystified, I don’t know about you, i’m hearing something different from another source today. I hearing something form heaven. That’s the true news, that which ca only come from above.  Can you hear the sound from heaven, the sound of  refreshing, revival, revitalisation? The air is different today,  can you smell the aroma of freshness is arises from the dampened soil. Yes earth awakes as it receives rain and so will you and so will I. The refreshing has arrived. If you can hear it you shall see it! NO MORE DRY SEASON. The rain has come, Enjoy it, it’s revival time.

Rudy Perez

Rudy Perez, a dear friend of mine went home to be with the Lord a couple of days ago. Back in 95 I stayed at the home of Gilbert Perez while on itinerary into states. Gilbert was a member of JILM.org a charismatic chruch thee in Adrian Mi. I had the amazing opportunity of meeting his dad in Toledo Ohio. He was so happy to meet me that he gave me the shirt of the evangelist he ministered with back in the 60/70s. Leroy Jenkins a televangelist who was known for his healing ministry. A film “The Calling” later changed to “Man of Faith” was made of him in 2002 and he passed away in 2017. Rudy starred also into film. Rudy was a gentleman, kind hearted and humble.

I have thought much of that meeting many years ago. I thank the Lord for the opportunity to meet him and we shall meet again. The Lord bless you Gilbert my brother and your family. My heart, prayers are with you and the Lord is for you. Always!
Rudy you shall be missed. Thanks for impacting my life.

Don’t Die at the Door

The Elisha said hear ye the word of the Lord thus said the lord Tomorrow about this time…. shall measure of flour be sold for a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel at the gate o Samaria.  Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, If the Lord would make windows in heaven might this thing be.And he (Elisha) said behold thou shalt see it with thine eyes but shall not eat thereof. (2Kings 7;2)……  And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have charge of the gate and the people trod on him at the gate and died. (2 Kings 7v17).

When Samaria was surrounded by Syria, they received a prophetic word promising resource. One of the king’s men scoffed & said: “Could this be possible? If God opened windows in heaven?” The next day he was trampled in the gate.  (Heres my thought piggybacking on the the above tweet of Daniel Mckillop CA on family church  @drmackillop

maybe you are a man of God set at the gate, yes the gate of your city or the gate of your business world, the gate. Whatever gate you are set at, we should live in expectancy at the promised word of the Lord. and it’s fulfilment in our lives. Doors represent opportunities gates represent movements, Life is too short to spend standing at the door waiting for something to come our way or standing at the gate waiting for revival. be the revival, open that door... Act in faith, God said it and he will make it happen for you. My prayer for you today is simply this” … “Lord help me not die at the door of my opportunity..”

Brother Paul.

The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of Jesus.

Many will say the Holy Ghost is a third person the trinity this is not so and here’s why.

And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: (Romans 1;4). But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his (Roman 8;9) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (Romans 8:11).

Who raised Jesus from the dead? Did he raise himself? after all he himself rose others from the dead. These verses offer no contradiction either, there is one Spirit and the word tells us the Lord is that Spirit ( 2 Cor 3;17). Since God is Spirit  and the Lord is that Spirit, then the Spirit of Christ is Christ’s own Spirit. (John 4;24 and Ro 8;9). So when Jesus said he would raise himself he did. He is the resurrection and life (John 11;25) Who is the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Jesus.

Has Humility Died?

Gwynfor Evans in his paperback “Land of my Fathers” states how disagreement broke out between the churches in Wales and those in England. A Christian mission under the eldership of Augustine of Kent came to England in 527, He received a welcome there from Ethelbert, King of Kent. and an invitation was issued to the Celtic church  to send a delegation to meet Augustine. The invite was accepted and a conference was held.

The purpose of the congress from Augustine’s point of view was to get the Welsh to lay aside the distinctive use of baptism, among other things and accept him as Archbishop of Canterbury. A further conference was held to clarify things, this time the Welsh consulted a wise hermit, the advice he gave was this. “If he is a man of God,” said the hermit, about Augustine, “follow him” and here is the sign that you will know whether he is a man of God or not. The Hermit quoted Matthews gospel, “shoulder my yoke and learn fo me for I am gentle and humble in heart.” If he were gentle and humble in heart he should be followed, if he were proud and severe, Christian truth was not in him and his leadership should not be accepted” that is, he could not be recognised as their archbishop.

How were they to make such a judgement though. The hermit suggested that he and his companions should arrive first. If he gets to his feet when you come to him, listen humbly to him for he is a servant of God, but if he scorns you by remaining seated and not rising when you arrive..then you shall greet him with contempt.

Augustine did not rise to greet them and the Welsh did not accept him as Archbishop. It is true, those who lead of God will like God, humble shelves to serve others. The mark of a king is discovered in his ability to serve.  The Man who is too big to help a man lesser than he is too big for the position of king and too ignorant for the title of servant. Even today the rule applies to those who call themselves archbishops and prophets and other grande titles, let those who lead be your servants … first!

The Misuse of Tongues

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1;8).
He that speaks in another tongue edifies himself (1 Cor 14;4).

Tongues is not a sign of power tongues are a sign that you are born of the Spirit. Power is what you have when we cast our demons, heal the sick and raise the dead.
I was in a church the other week, the prayer was loud, real loud, in tongues, the folks payed hard. A few days later I was invited to take a bible study with them. the response and interest was abysmal, they found it hard to answer basic questions, be involved, let alone enthusiastic about God’s word. It bothered me. How can one who prays fanatically in tongues be so cold in ones heart towards God’s word?
Are we so addicted to tongues yet we know not God!
Can one be so religious about prayer yet lack have no interest or longing for the knowledge of God from a good bible study? Has praying in tongues become the standard of one ones faith by which we measure one’s spiritual authority? It’s easy to talk about the “fire.” However scriptures tell me that his word was like fire (Jer 20;9) Fire is the result of an abiding word from the Lord in the heart of man so that he like Jeremiah he can’t help but preach it. If one’s praying is loud and ones preaching is silent, I don’t think you have fire, you have enthusiasm. Enthusiasm does not convict sinners, God’s word does. Let’s get real, I’m not hiding behind a prayer wall of tongues, real power is casting out demons, real power is healing the sick, real power is enduring the cross, the shame, contending for the faith, raising the dead (Matthew 10;8) and being a witness to the truth of the gospel (Acts 1;8). Go ahead pray in tongues, but make it your goal to go ahead into all the world and preach the gospel…that takes power and that’s why God gave it.
